- Best moments – Its all good even the bad, great to be able to enjoy the bush.
- Most satisfing – Doing first ascents.
- Training – A little, tend to be a bit lazy in training. I will do some type of climbing once a week.
- Indoor Gym – I go sometimes but often just to chat. I should do it more as it is great for training.
- Ethics – Do what you enjoy if possible without hurting anyone else. As far as climbing goes, well, practicing minimal impact is good (the current trend). Bolting is a big issue it seems. Like most things humans do they go too far unless a rule is made to curb their enthusiasm. Bolting can be done cleverly so as to minimise impact. I am, for bolts, and against bolts, I don’t particular like them but I need them.
- Heros – I would mention Catherine Destervill and Wolfgang Gullich as having a significant influence, but the real heros for me are the local climbers, just good honest normal people.
- Most significant climbing issue – Trying to haul 85kgs up a 26
- Most significant issue. Let there be peace and harmony.
- Favorite food – Apple pie, pork chops
- Favorite drink – Tea, lemon flavoured water.
- Favorite food & drink on the rock – apples, water, chocolate.
- Why do you climb – Hmmm good question. I read a response to this question somewhere that said, ‘cause if I don’t I get grumpy’. I thought that was pretty good. I think its very personal, earthy, probably ridiculous, addictive and very satisfying. I always feel contented, relaxed, unpressured, cleansed, after a climb. Its great to be in the areas where climbing takes place, wonderful landscapes. It just feels great.
